Bio
Coach Hargis has been coaching for 17 years. He has spent the last 8 years as a Defensive Coordinator. Coach was born in Dallas and grew up in Southlake, Texas. He played multiple sports in high school and was a walk-on for the Fall 2003 SMU Mustangs. He transferred to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he graduated from in May 2008 with a BA in Exercise Sports Science. Coach started his first four years here in the metroplex at Colleyville Heritage High School. He then got called to work for his High School Coach Todd Dodge at Marble Falls for two years and then followed him to Austin Westlake for 3 years. Coach Hargis then decided to go out on his own and become a Defensive Coordinator at Wichita Falls followed by Magnolia and most recently New Caney. Coach has been influenced by many of the best coaches in the state of Texas and wouldn't be where he is today without their friendship.
Coach Hargis is a man of faith and his family before football. His wife, Lauren, and his 3 children, Charlotte (twin, 7), Carson (twin, 7), and Camden (5 mo.) love being a part of the Allen Eagle football program. Coach's mom was an elementary Physical Education teacher for 30 plus years, his dad coached him in almost all his youth sports growing up, and his sister is the Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach at their alma mater Southlake Carroll. His wife Lauren's Mom and Dad are the High School Swim Coaches in Temple, TX. Lauren's Grandfather and both Uncle's both coached Texas High School Football as well. It runs deep in our family.
Working with the players, coaches, parents, and administration at Allen High School has been an absolute dream for me! We have the best High School Football program on Earth, and it's because of those people. I will do everything I can to make sure to keep the tradition of Allen High School rolling at a high level on and off the field. Thank you for all the support everyone shows towards me every day, it's truly a blessing to be here.
